WiseGlass FAQ
The WiseGlass software is based on face detection rather than facial recognition. These are two different technologies. Face detection simply checks for the presence of a face, while facial recognition searches for and identifies a specific person.
The WiseGlass system does not identify a particular individual nor track them in the case of multiple appearances, for example, in different locations or during repeated visits to the same place.
The WiseGlass algorithm can only determine whether and how long an anonymous person is looking at the screen area, and estimate basic demographic characteristics, such as gender and age.
WiseGlass does not aim to expand the scope of the data collected. Instead, we are working on basic interaction with displays through gestures. In the future, this will enable the audience to respond to the ad they are watching. This could include expressing their opinion, skipping the ad, or interacting with it (e.g., choosing another ad, pausing, etc.).
